Porton Church is home to Reverend Bruce Gregor Mendel. It has a large attached cemetery, herb garden and fairly spacious basement. It also contains living and working space for Bruce and his wife, contained in a small building to the south of the church. The church has a bell tower.
In Act I/1, the church becomes a relief centre for the scared and injured in Porton. When not out assisting the workers, he speaks to them, inspiring them and curbing their fear of the dangers to come.
